Building The Relationship

Cultivating Connection
Human Being First. Human Doing Second.

It cannot be underestimated: positive teacher-student relationships significantly contribute to the sustained success and engagement of students- both behaviorally and academically.  Students who experience respect and unconditional acceptance from their teacher are more likely to be compliant, respectful, and open to learning, while students who experience negativity or feel targeted are more likely to exhibit the same, act out, and sabotage their learning.

"It can be a long school year, especially when you have a challenging group of students. The session on building stronger relationships with students was so impactful for our team. Alisa worked with our administrators ahead of time to collect positive student feedback about their meaningful interactions with teachers. She presented it during our session and our own students' words re-energized us and served as a special reminder that the hard work, patience and compassion is worth it!"- Kaley D., San Diego, CA
